SPECIAL EIGHTH ANNIVERSARY BANDCAMP RELEASE LINER NOTES BY MATT HARNISH:

The year that almost wasn't. I had line-up problems, artwork problems, recording problems, & money problems, but still managed to get the dumb thing out. Call it another "re-building" year, but this is probably my favorite volume. Favorite memories: Jason Hutto asking to be billed as something other than Walkie Talkie USA, but me billing him as that anyway, Eric Hall's Thomas Crone "wake" at Lemmon's, Rick from SkareKrau emailing to apologize about one word that somebody used on their song & asking if we should edit out that ONE WORD. He was perfectly fine with everything else (I didn't edit out the word). Ha!

MORE NOTES BY PANCAKE MASTER:

I feel like I was sorta outta the loop for Volume Four but came back for Volume Five and kept more committed to the A VERY BERT DAX CHRISTMAS circuit through to when it wasn't a thing anymore (that's now). Obviously there's my former band Mustardfish doing a cover (in 5/4 and 3/4 time, though) of the Bunnygrunt song that sorta started it all, in more ways than one: "Seasons Freaklings" was on 2000 (or so?)'s BETTER THAN FRUITCAKE, which was a forerunner of the A VERY BERT DAX CHRISTMAS compilations and essentially had the same description (holiday music by Saint Louis artists) but was released on Vintage Vinyl's house label. Then years later it was, of course, that BAD SANTA second-half-of-the-closing-credits song that may or may not have played any part in Bunnygrunt's decade(s?)-long reunion. I recall keeping it top-secret what we had done even to Matt until we turned it in. I think this is the only AVBDC of which I still have physical copies (priced to sell, hyerk!).
