SPECIAL NINTH ANNIVERSARY BANDCAMP RELEASE LINER NOTES BY MATT HARNISH:
An active attempt at joining up disparate scenes, this one tapped in to the brand new Big Muddy Records camp, oddball alt-countriers, punk rock, metal, & that Joe Steinman guy, this is probably my favorite volume. Favorite memories: getting in with that Eric Von Damage guy, who I later asked to join Bunnygrunt, getting tons of KDHX airplay for this one (though still not selling that many copies).
MORE NOTES BY PANCAKE MASTER:
I'm told that the Two-Faced Liars eventually/essentially became/were known as Bassamp & Dan-O. Corbeta Corbata are to be commended for their not-seen-enough-on-these-compilations "long form" sketch-including song. I hear that's the only CC song ever to be co-written by all three members, was never performed live by them (this recording is the performance!), and was the last project they ever worked on (barring, presumably, that one reunion concert they did). Don, who usually plays Santa Claus at Von Damage family holiday gatherings (and who plays Santa Claus in the sketch preceding the tune) was originally going to sing it, too! I also love how at least three of these songs are pretty much just about it bein' all COLD! It's the COLDest Dax-Mas yet!
